Wilderness Usawa Serengeti is a mobile luxury tented facility accommodating 12 guests in six en-suite safari tents. Being mobile, it leaves no permanent fixtures behind when the camp moves, leaving a light footprint on the Earth. The camps are solar powered, with rechargeable lights and charging stations in the rooms, as well as Wi-Fi and hot water.
The facility welcomes children aged 6 and older, though children under 16 must share a room with an adult.
It is always positioned in perfect locations for you to have a clear view of the migration. Guests are assured of uncountable, unforgettable safari moments, including sightings of mega herds of wildebeest, zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, eland and other species. This abundance of prey naturally attracts an array of predators.
Prides of lion split the herds, taking down wildebeest with ease, cheetahs pick off the weaker, slower animals, and crocodiles prey on the brave when the herds dare to cross the rivers. It’s wildlife on an unmatched scale; a natural wonder seen nowhere else on Earth.
Serengeti Wilderness Camp is a simple, mobile periodic camp in the heart of the park. The camp offers 10 tents with en-suite bush-showers and eco-friendly toilets. Comfortable beds are provided with good quality towels and bedding and with solar-powered bedside lamps. They also offer a dressing area and shady verandah with camp chairs provided where you can relax, read or watch/observe the local wildlife during your visit to Serengeti.
The camp offers a central dining tent well-sized and airy with a convenient lounge area housing a collection of maps and games and a small library where you can also recharge cameras and videos.
Enjoy an in-camp sun downer with cocktails and snacks around the campfire, followed by a lamp-lit dinner in the bush, cooked on embers in the traditional manner.
Here, the day starts with your freshly infused tea or coffee with a full breakfast. You can also enjoy a proper bush breakfast if you opt for the magical Serengeti balloon flight. This will only happen when you take part in the hot air balloon.
There is chance to enjoy a more relaxed sit-down dining experience in the evening. Here the chef will demonstrate his bush-cooking skills with soups, stews, pot roasts, camp bread and other hearty safari fare including healthy salads and desserts, all prepared from fresh locally sourced-meat, poultry, fish, fruits, vegetables and served in safari style. Special diets, vegetarian, salt or gluten free etc., can be addressed with prior request.
North Wilderness Camp is a ‘seasonal’ camp located in the north of the Serengeti National Park in the Kogatende area, a short distance from the banks of the Mara River and hence offering suitable opportunity to experience the great wildebeest migration safari in Serengeti Park.
Here you will have the benefit of being able to move to some of the best game viewing areas of the park, and we work under strict guidelines with the camp being truly eco-friendly.
It offers ten spacious tents providing comfortable beds and quality linen, with en suite flushing toilet and gravity shower. Lighting is by 12-volt (solar powered) with bedside lamps provided. Each tent has a shady verandah.
The central dining tent complements a comfortable lounge tent which has a small reference library, maps, some games for children and a recharging facility for cameras and videos. Our safari chef will prepare sumptuous meals for your enjoyment. Evenings offer a typical safari campfire around which you enjoy sun downers and snacks as well as reliving the day’s experiences.
Enjoy a mix of gently rolling hills, riverine forests and broken by small rivers and occasional granite outcrops and ‘Kopjes. This is the place to be between June and November when masses of migrating Wildebeest and Zebra cross over the Mara River. Dramatic river crossings will show up as tens of thousands of animals juggle into the waters in a desperate bid to safely reach the other side.
Ndutu Wilderness Camp is an intimate tented camp set in the Ndutu area of the Serengeti eco – system from December to March, coinciding with calving season. Nestled under shady trees on a private site, the camp comprises ten spacious tents including a 4-bed family tent, featuring solar lighting and en-suite facilities.
Catch up with fellow travelers in the central lounge with a camp fire completing that close to nature safari ambience. This will give you ample time to share different experiences as you enjoy your evening.
Meals are served in a large dining tent or alfresco. The camp has a communal lounge and bar area which is a great place to relax. The camp also has Wi-Fi available.
While at this camp, you will spot plenty of predators: lion, cheetah, leopard, serval, African wildcat, caracal as well as striped and spotted hyena. The diverse eco – systems in this area, from woodlands, to plains and soda lakes, make it a unique place for bird watching. This is the perfect place to be to witness the annual wildebeest calving spectacle.
The Ndutu area is the best place to be to witness the annual wildebeest calving spectacle. Once the rains start in the late November, the huge herds make their way down from the Mara River to graze the short grass plains of the Serengeti.
